BrainArt generates 3D models in real time from neurofeedback. People have never watched their own brain readings while sculpting — and they are often surprised by the intensity and speed of their thoughts. It is a brief, honest glimpse into the mind’s inner workings.

01How it works

Our team helps the visitor put on an EEG device. With small adjustments they quickly notice the correlation between brain activity and the visuals. Calm down, or solve a mental task — and watch shapes, speed and colour change.

After one minute the software pauses and saves the captured artwork, delivered as a print or a digital file. The visitor is the artist, and all rights to the art belong to them. We do not store any EEG data.

02Reading the picture

The circle is divided into eight equal parts, starting at the top — just like the eight electrodes spread across the head, starting at the forehead. When a region is active, cubes are pushed out of the circle in that region’s colour, with exactly the force measured there.

It is not a medical test. It is like being handed a flute for the first time: the EEG data is interpreted in an abstract, artistic form — a sketch made with the mind.
